Wenatchee River

The Wenatchee River is just a few easy hours drive from the Seattle metro area, close enough for a relaxing day trip. It has been open for steelhead fly fishing in October the past two years. We are expecting a good season on the Wenatchee River due to the predicted steelhead return on the Columbia River.

The Season
The Wenatchee River steelhead season, like other Columbia River drainages, depends on the number of returning steelhead to their spawning waters. After a ten year steelhead season hiatis due to poor returns of steelhead, the Wenatchee River has been open for steelhead fishing the past two years. The steelhead season starts in early October and can fish good into December and January.
